As someone who has suffered from debilitating chronic pain since 2017, I can’t recommend Amanda enough. I tried every doctor and treatment you could think of with no results and worsening pain. To say that knowing and working with Amanda LaPlante has changed my life for the better is an incredible understatement.

When I first got to know Amanda, I was an overweight (let’s just say it…chubby) guy in my mid-30’s with hypertension issues, more stress than I’d like to admit, and a total lack of control and understanding with respect to my health and wellness.  The worst part of it all is the fact that I considered myself to be at least reasonably healthy when I was far from it.

Fast forward to the present.  During my most recent physical exam, my physician mentioned something about my weight, and I said, “Yeah, I think I’ve lost a bit.”  My doctor, in an impressed tone, responded with, “You’ve lost more than a bit, my friend!”  Suffice to say, he is incredibly happy with the changes that have been made, and so am I.  My weight is down, my blood pressure is at a very manageable level, my outlook on life is better, my actions are more mindful, and, perhaps most importantly, my relationship with my wife and children have improved.

There are no magic pills or powders when you are working with Amanda.  She will not try to sell you on supplements or drastic diet plans.  What she will do is provide the utmost care and concern to act as a discussion partner to guide you to make subtle tweaks in your life that will have long-lasting positive impacts on your overall health.

Amanda Is a Miracle Worker! When I 1st came to see Amanda, I just knew I didn’t feel well. I knew something had to change in my life, but I wasn’t sure exactly what. I knew that I needed some healthier alternatives in my diet and thought well let’s start there. Well, that was just ONE component of unlocking my new lifestyle. Amanda took me as an entire person into account, not just what I was eating. She assessed where I was physically, mentally, emotionally AND spiritually. Then in every session Amanda gave me suggestions for ways to take better care of me. I could tell that she really cared about me and my happiness.

She wanted me to achieve the best life possible for me as I defined what that meant! I love her holistic approach!! Amanda was so very patient and always amazingly encouraging! My results have been phenomenal and I don’t feel like what I did to transform my life was that hard. We just slowly incorporated better choices and habits into my routine until I slimmed down, looked 10 years younger, and had a renewed feeling of joy and well-being! My case is more complicated than some – years long with slow but sure progress – so many of the nutrition pieces have been in place for me for several years now. My story also includes much trial and error, so at times I get frustrated easily and frown upon many suggestions because I’ve “been there, done that” or know it won’t work for me because of my many food sensitivities. Ugh! All this to say that Amanda did a fantastic job of meeting me where I am, providing me with countless sources of information and ideas to try –

and did not flinch (or kick me to the curb) when I countered some of her offerings. (Granted, she and I both know we can’t heal without some hard work, so no complacency allowed!) We worked a great deal on my mindset…and there is so much to learn and try just around that! Mystery Illness

I asked Amanda to be my health coach originally because I was looking for advice on how to eat better and live a healthier life in general. There are so many new diets out there that claim they are the “best and healthiest” way to eat. How do you know what really is “best”? What I came to understand is that Amanda takes a very holistic approach to your “health”. She not only is concerned with how you are eating, but also asks you about your home life, work life, stress levels, relationships, etc. She does this because all of these things together help you achieve your “best and healthiest” life.

If one of these things is out of balance it can really impact all other areas of your life. Amanda helped me understand the right kinds of foods to eat, and not to eat, to satisfy what your body really needs to feel your absolute best. I also came to realize things that were causing me a lot of stress and impacting other areas of my life. I was able to move on from those things and now I live a much happier and healthier life! I’m tremendously happier in all areas of my life and I attribute a great deal of that to working with Amanda.

I’ve gotten a lot out of our sessions, finally pushing me to engage working out seriously and changing eating habits.  I feel much more healthy today than just a few months ago.  I can do physical activity without any discomfort today whereas less than a year ago, the discomfort was happening nearly every day.  I may not be the most disciplined of the group, but I feel good finally starting.  Meanwhile my weight is staying at 143 to 144 even cheating once in a while!  I appreciate all of your help!
